Tailor-made e-learning - about individualization in online teaching

Individualized character of online education is stressed at every stage of its development but usually it is understood as a possibility to learn at any time and any place. While it is true, it is also true that such approach does not take into account individual learning preferences and expectations that every student has. To fulfil such demand it is necessary to create highly personalized online courses, both with respect to the form the knowledge is presented and the way it is delivered. On the other hand, the process of preparing e-learning materials is very expensive and time consuming. The article shows an idea of a solution that intends to build a bridge between these two, apparently opposite tendencies. It will show how to recognize one's learning style and how to implement the idea of Reusable Learning Objects in order to create tailor-made, individualized e-learning courses and lectures.
