This time, as I did in last e-mentor, I would like to encourage you to read articles and also invite you to participate in coming events, which we patronize.
The Centre for Development of Distance and Permanent Education of Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) organizes this semester a set of seminars dedicated to e-learning. In March, we held two meetings with over 50 participants from SGH and other Polish universities. The first seminar E-education in SGH aimed at introducing e-learning issues and present SGH e-learning activities. During the seminar the e-sgh.pl platform was presented and didactic issues in e-education was discussed. Next meeting focused on designing online courses was enriched by speeches of experts from outside SGH. The seminar ended with a discussion about legal possibilities of using sources of information in creating online materials. The problem was so interesting that questions about copyright, intelectual property, etc. were asked even long after the planned time of ending the seminiar. Next workshop is going to be held on 18 April 2005. It will be dedicated to individual possibilities of using programs and computer aplications in didactics. Future seminars are planned in May and June 2005. More information can be found here (in Polish): www.cren.pl/seminaria/. These issues will be discussed during the 2nd Conference - The development of e-learning in higher education of economics which will be organized on 17 November 2005 in Warsaw School of Economics (more information soon at www.e-edukacja.net).
Another interesting event is The organization of the didactic process and knowledge management in higher education of economics conference, 23 June 2005, Wroclaw, Poland. This will be the seventh meeting organized by the Foundation for the Promotion and Accreditation of Economic Education and Academies of Economics from Katowice, Cracow, Poznan, Wroclaw together with Warsaw School of Economics from Warsaw. Main issues are: organization of the didactic process, knowledge management in higher education of economics, technologies which support the teaching process.
During the conference, we also plan to give certificates of the Foundation for the Promotion and Accreditation of Economic Education to accreddited institutions and announce the winners of the competition for best PhD thesis New trends in economics and management (www.nowetrendy.net). On behalf of the Programme Committee, I invite you to take part in the conference. More information available (in Polish) at: www.fundacja.edu.pl/organizacja/.
