I present with pleasure the 10th issue of e-mentor. This little jubilee makes a good occassion for summing up so far achievements and creating plans for the future developement of our magazine. First of all, I would like to thank all people who were involved in working on first ten issues. We have always been supported by our Program Committee, reviewers and correspondents. I also thank persons who sent us their opinions about e-mentor. I am not able to enumerate here names of all people who recommended our magazine among academics which mostly contributed to popularisation of e-mentor and e-learning. I should also mention that e-mentor is published in two versions (printed and online) and is distributed to a large part of academics interested in e-education, knowledge management, lifelong learning, e-business and methods, forms and programs of curriculum. Over 150 000 people have already visited online version of the magazine, which means that e-mentor is also popular among people who don.t have access to the printed version. 1200 copies of the latter are sent to almost 300 educational institutions in Poland.
I would like to stress the support which we got from companies and institutions - sponsors of particular issues (A.T. Kearney, Deutsche Bank, mBank) and institutions which finance e-mentor - Ministry of National Education and Sport and National Bank of Poland. The funds we received covered considerable part of DTP and print costs. Furthermore, I should mention articles presented in our magazine. Naturally, the value of content is always evaluated by readers. I can only inform that so far we have published 123 reviewed articles, 56 reports from conferences and other events and we have recommended many publications, web sites and conferences. On the whole, we have published materials of 136 authors.
Thinking about the future, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that today we publish our first printed article in English. Till now, we published English versions only in our web site. I hope that original version will be more valuable for our readers. In the future, we plan to continue such an idea.
We are also going to focus more on the idea of information society, which we have already started and do in this issue . a report from a knowledge-based economy seminar. We also intend to involve our readers in creating e-mentor. We will invite experts for discussions and organize meetings. Thus, we are a patron of such conferences as: The organization of the didactic process and knowledge management in higher education of economics (more information: www.fundacja.edu.pl/organizacja/) and The second conference The development of e-learning in higher education of economics on 17 November (more information soon: www.e-edukacja.net).
In the 10th issue of e-mentor, we present a lot of information about past and coming events, meetings, conferences and workshops about e-learning. I am sure that growing number of such events is caused by increasing popularity of e-education and activity of academics. Therefore, I would like to encourage you to share your opinions about them in future issues of e-mentor.
As I have already mentioned, creating and publishing e-mentor wouldn.t be possible without commitments of many people. I thank them all again for their hardship and kindness. They are as follows:
