It is my pleasure to present you the 3rd edition of 'e-mentor' bimonthly. Our paper has developed. Apart from the subjects previously discussed in it - e-learning, continual education, educational programmes and methods and forms of it - we have focused also on problems connected with e-business and knowledge managment. It is my belief that such wide spectrum of subjects e-mentor touches will be even more welcome by our readers.

We have undergone also some organizational changes in the beggining of the year 2004. An important novelity for the authors and readers of the paper are reviews. All articles, starting from this edition on, will be reviewed by E-mentor Programme Council or people from outside the editorial board. On January Foundation for the Promotion and Accreditaion of Economic Education became a co-publisher of our paper. The Foundation deals, among others, with promotion of high-statndard teaching on economical departments in univerisities. It also occupies itself with accrediting those departments complying with standards of higher education in economics. This co-operation along with international and multi-insititutional character of the Programme Council as well as the article reviews and expanding into diffrent subjects of e-lerning, are further steps taken by us to make e-mentor a more proffesional widely-published periodical.

The current issue of e-mentor fully deals with problems of teaching. The few first articles describe the perspectives for market development and challenges that managment-teaching will have to face in 21st century. Next ones stay also in the framework of the bimonthly, dealing with assertiveness and potential threats of it, giving a deeper insight into formal and non-formal groups of students and activities of young people with their friends of the same age.

Articles on e-bussiness and knowledge management started two new columns in e-mentor. The practical way of running electronic bussines was presented in a paper by Michal Macierzynski, a graduate student at SGH, describing how the first Polish virtual bank was opened.

I strongly recomend numerous articles on e-learning, those about activities of local and foreign centres and written by experts in this area. In her article, Dr Maira Zajac from High School of Pedagogics in Krakow presents an idea of an effective way for materials preparation for online teaching. It involves creating Reusable Learning Objects, which may be later used many times in different courses.

It is not the first time we are offered to get familiar with the Polish Virtual University's activity. Wojciech Zielinski shares his over 4 years' long work experience at PVU. Mutual relations of both the universities were also presented, as well as experiences in utilizing the Internet for teaching also in classical education.

The last column is 'e-learnig in the world'. There can be found articles presenting two valuable european projects and describing the Swiss Centre of Innovation in Teaching as the example of incorporation of the internet teaching.

Students constitute very important group of readers to us. We aim at publishing for this group. Which is more, we will be pleased to cooperate with students, academic circles and student organizations. In this issue you can make yourself familiar with student's opinions about the distance-learning classes. A SGH student, Zbigniew Misiak shares his ideas and those acquired by means of questionaire presented to participants of a set of lectures delivered by the Internet at e-sgh.pl system. We present the results of a questionaire run by dr Janusz Kurowski among extra-mural students, who were asked to evaluate the idea of enriching ordinary classes on economy with additional materials and interactive tasks published online. The results of the SGH's poll, testing the willingness to join the post-graduate studies on the Internet are also available.

I would like to encourage everyone to discuss the problems e-mentor writes about. It is now possible in one of the following ways: either by entering discusion board at www.e-mentor.edu.pl or at e-sgh.pl where we have opened a special room: e-learning.

Also I would like to thank our readers for sharing their opinions about the paper and numerouns visits on our website. Between Sept. 14, 2003 and Feb. 10, 2004 e-mentor's website was displayed more than 5400 times.
