Virtual Campus of UMCS: first experience and idea of the project
In 2001 the University Centre for Distance Learning and Open Courses (UCZNiKO) was established within Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. The aim of the Centre is to promote and implement new technologies in education. Fulfilling the expectations of students and academics, the Centre decided to create virtual environment for working and teaching - the Virtual Campus.
The article presents a main idea of the project and a strategy of its development. Results of observations and research connected with the Virtual Campus will be presented in next issues of 'e-mentor'.
