The role of standardization of e-learning platforms


In the article the aims and standards of e-learning systems worked out in the frames of cooperation of four organizations: AICC - Aviation Industry CTB Committee, IMS - Global Consortium, ADL - Advanced Distributed Learning and IEEE LTSC - IEEE Learning Technology Standards Committee have been presented. The most important standards implemented all over the world in order to achieve a full convertibility of teaching units (Assignable Unit) between Learning Management System (LMS) and Learning Content Management System (LCMS) have been described.
