The strategies of practicing andragogy in Germany

Since decades andragogy, consciously and consistently, as well as irrespectively of theoretical trends, creates the basis for lifelong education. Thanks to political and social acceptance of this idea, it is important in current pedagogical discussion. To maintain its high status, it has to use such strategies of its reflection which would strengthen the theoretical potential of lifelong education, that was weakened by politics. In this context, exploring the andragogy practicing strategies seems advisable. The author of this article does so on the example of German andragogy, referring to different phases of its development caused by social, political and economic changes. The issue which has been presented is the result of an investigational study on the influence of different factors of knowledge development on the condition of andragogy reflection in Germany, in order to bring comparatistic material for an analysis of other local andragogies, also the Polish one.
