Wikipedia - common wisdom or collective foolishness?

The article rises the issues concerning the creation of Internet encyclopedia, with particular regard to "Wikipedia", developed as a result of both amateurs' and professionals' teamwork. The author underlines that owning to new media, the statuses of laymen and experts are being equalized and that every member of Internet community has the possibility of sharing their knowledge with others. Internet breaks the scientists' monopoly for providing reliable and credible information, therefore proving that the transfer of information of the same value may be created as well by a group of passionate non-professionals.
