Education in knowledge-based society in the context of learner's personality development

The rapid development of information civilization compels to find new educational paths, which are to facilitate learners' functioning in changing reality. The article discusses the need of modification of education system and the problems encountered. Such objectives of education system as adjustment of teaching content to current job market requirements, providing learners with flexible civilization competences as well as supporting students self-learning and career planning are underlined.
