Business and IT transformation management
Ensuring an effective business transformation is one of the key challenges for modern companies. In practice, companies very often have significant difficulties in choosing and giving priorities for projects and programs since usually there are more project proposals than possibilities of their realization and while every originator (for instance the head of business unit) assumes that his or her project is the most important one. Transformation management requires an application of methods that enable an objective evaluation of proposed initiatives and the choice of such set of them, which would allow for the most effective and efficient way of the realization of company's strategic aims. Thus, in practice the attempts of organizing the project management processes often begin with IT, which sometimes leads to ineffective solutions focusing on internal IT aims instead of on the integration of business and IT transformation, because only then achieving expected business benefits will be possible.
