Knowledge management, like every other trend in management, is continuously evolving. We already observed one important turn. It is a turn from a "supply attitude" to a "demand attitude". T. Davenport in "Working knowledge" How organizations manage what they know. pointed out that there exists a knowledge market and characters that can be played there (e.g. knowledge broker). However, just the beginning of the current century gave us a division for the first and the second generation KM.
