Motivation in distance teaching
Motivation is the foundation of success in the process of learning. It enables the creation of inclination (willingness) to act and to take part in distance education courses. Meanwhile, the curricula of online courses do not usually provide for motivational components and they assume that the willingness to act depends exclusively on the factors that are on the part of a learner. Even if the motivational elements are incorporated, then they oscillate in the area of rational (cognitive) components and set aside any emotional premises. In fact, it is the emotions that play an important part in making decisions about enrolling in a course and about its continuation. The article discusses the issues of motivation and presents their role in learners' decisions. The emotional part of e-learning course, so far underestimated, is the subject of detailed analysis.
