Motivational-volitional strategies in distance education

Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) gains popularity and is more and more commonly used in e-learning platforms. It has been proved that teamwork brings better results than individual learning. Naturally, individualization of learning is an achievement of distant education, but it may lead to isolation and loneliness of a student.
The article presents examples of cooperative work supported by computer applications. The author also describes a few tools which are used in teamwork, such as: chat, e-mail, MUD, videoconferences, whiteboard and others.
