Entrepreneurial incubators as accelerators of growth in the region

Universities can flexible adjust their activities to the dynamically changing market conditions thanks to diversified resources they posses. One of instruments enabling them to fulfill their role as creators of knowledge-based economy is the promotion of entrepreneurial behaviors among students, graduates and academic staff. The paper focuses on the dynamical growth of entrepreneurial incubators, which can be observed nowadays. The author presents how incubators can build their comparative advantage in the region thanks to diminishing the economic diversities and strengthening the growth potential of a region. The article shows many case-studies dedicated to the functioning of entrepreneurial incubators in different countries in the European Union. Worth mentioning is also the Polish initiative on that field, which is Academic Entrepreneurial Incubators.
