Education in knowledge-based society - ambiguity of social and cultural reality

The article is a report from an international conference Education in knowledge-based society - ambiguity of social and cultural reality which was organized on 25-26 November 2006 in Katowice. Researchers from Great Britain, Norway, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland gathered to discuss the increase of knowledge and its influence on the process of education. The attempt also has been made to evaluate directions of education and knowledge-based society development.
