Lifelong Self-Directed Learning

The author discusses the issue of self-directed learning in the context of lifelong learning. After defining what exactly self-directed learning is, she characterizes the Staged Self-Directed Learning model by G. Grow. Considering this, she points to the importance of motivation and two main consequences of the model for lifelong learning: we learn how to be self-directed throughout our life and we may achieve any of the stage of self-directedness.
