The choice of technological solutions in distance education

An important factor which has influence on costs of e-learning activity of a university is money spent on implementing and administration of software supporting distance education. These costs mostly determinate a development of e-learning activity. The university which is beginning its e-learning activity faces difficult choices concerning technology and organization. It can buy LMS/LCMS system, create its own platform or buy one of free systems available in the Internet. The last can be crucial for universities which plan small e-learning projects.
