Knowledge-based university
Knowledge-based university is a publication which contains proceedings of the conference Organization of the didactic process and knowledge management in higher education of economics which was held on 23 June 2005 in Wroclaw Univeristy of Economics, Poland. The conference was organised by the Foundation for the Promotion and Accreditation of Economic Education, Universities of Economics from Cracow, Katowice, Wroclaw, Poznan and Warsaw School of Economics.
Organizers have chosen for the conference 39 speeches (out of 80 which were proposed by authors), from which 35 are published in this book. It also includes 6 additional papers which were not presented during the meeting. The first part of publication is dedicated to conditions which a university faces, directions of its development and a vision of its functions in the process of building knowledge-based society. In the second part, authors attempt to define a role of knowledge in establishing a competitive advantage of a modern university. The next part contains a set of good practice and models of organisation of the didactic process and also using efficient forms and methods in academic teaching. The last part includes ways of practical implementation of discussed methods and chosen rules, forms and standards in the academic education.
