If blended learning, then how should it be? Discussions about...
The article describes conclusions of a few discussions which were organized among academics by Polish Virtual University. They all concern implementation of new e-learning and blended learning systems into education. In the first discussion participants tried to answer a question of what a blended learning really is. Although the answer seems to be easy, it is not so simple indeed, as e.g. proportions of online and traditional learning have not been defined. The second meeting was dedicated to conditions which are necessary to implement blended learning in a university (decision makers, reorganization in curriculums, training teachers, evaluation). The third discussion concerned advantages of implementing blended learning for a student, a teacher and a university. The last one included changes in organization of academics' work when intuition and experience is not enough. Teachers must confront with technical tools which require new qualifications.
Summing up, traditional universities have to face new challenges coming with the development of information technologies which also means that such discussions should be continued so that institutions could do it in a most effective way.
