Ageing and the old age in the opinions of members of the University of the Third Age at Warsaw School of Economics and students of the Medical University in Warsaw

In the academic year 2006-2007, members of the Students' Geriatric Association of the Medical University (MU) in Warsaw conducted a questionnaire survey among MU students and members of the University of the Third Age (UTA) affiliated in the Warsaw School of Economics. The aim of the study was to assess respondents' knowledge concerning health problems of the elderly and to compare personal attitudes to older age among different age groups. MU students and UTA members differ in definition of the most important health problems of the elderly, however their attitudes towards aging show surprising similarities.
