Dear e-mentor Readers,
It's my pleasure to present you with the June issue of our magazine, which is the last one before the summer break. This time the emphasis was given on the issues of the Internet users' activity. The problem is considered both form practical side (in the paper on the research on the range of net usage among young people) and also from theoretical side - in the article describing the models for explaining net surfers' behaviour. I encourage you to read those texts and to ponder on the changes in the role played by the Internet in the development of the information society.
I particularly recommend the analysis concentrating on the measurement of a university's intellectual capital with the use of an evaluation done by the users of higher education institutions' educational services. This perspective of measurement was exemplified by the case of Poznan University of Economics.
Moreover, I would like to encourage you to read the article focusing on Open Educational Resources, on the diagnosis of academic community awareness in this range and on the evaluation of the extent to which there is a will among the representatives of this community to develop free content. The basis of the analysis are the experiences of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow.
The topic of open resources is significant also in the context of the act designed by the Ministry of Administration and Digitization, which aims to allow for common availability (and digitization) of the content belonging to public institutions, including the scientific and educational ones. Information about this project and also about other important issues can be found on the blog on the portal of our magazine: http://www.e-mentor.edu.pl/blog/ You are more than welcomed to read it!
