Plagiarism - a suggestion of a diagnose and a therapy based on the surveys' results

In May 2011, at the Faculty of Chemistry of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, in the attempt to diagnose the actual causes of student plagiarism, a survey has been conducted. On the basis of the analysis of the responses conclusions can be drawn about whether comprehensive and systematic release of information to the students on the conditions of plagiarism, the necessity of its avoidance, and warnings against its consequences are a sufficient preventative measure and what is the student's view on the actual causes of plagiarism and the ways they should be taught to avoid it? In the article, the description of the tests, their results and author's conclusions are presented.
