Seniors in new media world

People in post-productive age suffer form decreased capability of adapting to constant social changes, inability to overcome cultural and socioeconomic obstacles. One of many changes characteristic for current times, are the omnipresent media, familiarity with which determines one's functioning in a society. Cyber technologies have become a strategic element of modern societies life, since they allow for fulfilling distinct human needs. The lack of basic competencies in the area of new media pushes individuals beyond the social margin. The present article takes into consideration such phenomena as the omnipresence of media technologies, aging of societies, development of lifelong learning institutions, and it answers the questions about the degree and manner of new media influence on elderly people.
