Dear e-mentor Readers,

At the beginning of a new academic year I am providing for your reading the new issue of our bimonthly magazine.

The current issue begins with the presentation of good practices in ensuring teaching quality exemplified by the case of Cracow University of Economic. This article is a supplement for conference presentations of two seminars, organized by the Foundation for the Promotion and Accreditation of Economic Education, on the Bologna Process and the challenges for higher education. The later of the seminars was held in Cracow University of Economic.

I would like to recommend also two articles concerning the potential of Internet. The first one is focused on the research on real-time search, while the second one discusses the case of online activity of Małopolska local administration.

The review of publication An Introduction to Distance Learning in a New Era, is in my opinion worth recommendation as well. The book describes the most significant areas of methodology and technology of modern e-education. This bestseller was written by the authors, with whom the readers of e-mentor are familiar.

Finally, I would like to point your attention to another article - the one concentrating on the issues of information overload in educational processes, which is an important topic, however, not broadly discussed in e-mentor.

Taking the opportunity, I would like to invite all those interested to the session of VII edition of the conference The development of e-learning in higher education of economics. This time it will be hosted by Warsaw School of Economics. The meeting is planned for 18th Novermber 2010. More information, including an application form, can be found at www.e-edukacja.net.
