of the Third Age Universities in Poland
Universities of the Third Age are a multi-disciplinary non-formal education centers, which allow formation of positive responses to the challenges of an ageing population. It is reasonable, however, to raise the subject of changes in their organizational rules. These changes are related to the internal and external factors of adaptation to the requirements of modern societies and economies increasingly based not only on new information and communication technologies, but also on the human creativity. The aim of this paper is to discuss these processes, factors as well as characteristics of emerging models of institutions for the elderly on the basis of a critical analysis of literature on the subject.
