Attention economy - a concept of management of attention



Diversity and dynamic processes of changes in contemporary world create huge challenges both for companies operating in hypercompetitive market and for researchers of management. As a result, we observe that slowly developing evolution of theory and trends of management was significantly accelerated and researchers make attempts to deliver through different approaches and concepts explanations of contemporary phenomena, tips and advice on how to make business. One of the new approaches to management and activities on competitive markets is a concept of attention economy which, being focused on a such scarce commodity as attention, gives interesting conclusions both for communication of a company with environment and for managing company's knowledge and information.

The article is a first part of a paper which analyses role and potential contribution of the new approach to KM systems. The second part will be published in the next issue of "e-mentor".
