Tuition, reforms and liberalisation of Polish higher education
Higher education is one of most important factors which influence social and cultural development of every country. Without a common access to education, we cannot even think of building knowledge-based economy. Therefore, education is not only a cultural and social common property, but it is also a product with determined supply and demand.
Polish higher education system has many weaknesses and recent reform will probably be too conservative to overcome them. The authors suggest that implementing a compulsory tuition in all universities would be a good incentive for further changes.
